With construction crews working on the final touches, Roseville developer Steve Pease took reporters on a tour of what many in the city hope will be a financial catalyst for Vernon Street: Sammy’s Rockin’ Island Bar and Grill.
The restaurant will feature a crescent bar on its main floor directly across from a stage. The back side of the room will feature a crudo bar, serving raw fish delicacies spiced with island flavors. The second floor features another bar and seating overlooking the stage.
Sammy Hagar’s signature rum will be a mainstay at the restaurant, along with seven other premium rums handpicked by the rock ‘n’ roll icon. Pease said customers can expect to see a fun, high-energy tropical theme throughout the venue. Hagar himself with be the first performer to christen the new hot spot during a private show on Saturday, Sept. 15. More performers will follow. Sammy’s Rockin’ Island Bar and Grill is expected to host top musical talent from the region three nights a week. A number of one-of-a-kind guitars signed by Hagar will also be sold at the restaurant.
The public opening for Sammy’s Rockin’ Island Bar and Grill is set for Saturday, Sept. 22.
