The Woodcreek High School dance team, better know as Music-n- Motion, recently won a host of awards — including Elite Gold — in a major competition.
Coached by Kendra Bermudez, Music-n-Motion took on all comers at the Headliners Local Regional competition at Sacramento’s Memorial Auditorium. Bermudez is herself a 2009 Woodcreek graduate, and working with her up-and-coming high school dancers, the team competed against 24 private dance studios.
According to the Music-n-Motion, the two-day competition features groups from as close as the Bay Area to as far away as Nevada. Music-n-Motion winners were Kelsie Bennett, Kathryn Arellanes, Ashley Beckman, Brooke Rasina. Other team members involved in the overall wins were Sarah Nutter, Madison Doting, Brooke Jacobson, Cassandra Pochy, Kaitlin Merritt, Kaitlin Pais, Kiana Mabry, Caitlin Clark, Kathryn Arellanes, Kelsie Bennett, Bianca De Los Santos, Nicole Whatley, Emalee Sprock, Melissa Alexiou, Madison Buss and Jordyn Santa Catalina.
In addition to this latest competition, Music-n-Motion has also performed at a Sacramento Kings game, as well as taken part in the parade and half-time show for the NCAA Holiday Bowl in San Diego.
