Philip Wood first worked for Gold Country Media at the Folsom and El Dorado Hills Telegraphs in 2003, then left for a short period of time and returned to Gold Country Media late in 2004 and transitions from reporter to photographer. In 2007 he split his time between the Auburn Journal and the Telegraphs before shooting for several of the South Placer papers in the GCM cluster. In 2011, Wood transferred to the Roseville Press Tribune as a full-time staff photographer.
In 2014, he became the photography editor for Gold Country Media and transferred to the Auburn Journal where he also covers state government.
Philip earned a B.A. in journalism from California State University, Sacramento in 2004. Before that, he earned a B.A. degree in anthropology in 1996 from California State University, Stanislaus, with a concentration in archeology and a minor in history.
