Philip Wood first worked for Gold Country Media at the Telegraph in 2003, then left to work for another paper. He returned to Gold Country Media in November 2004 and moved from reporter to photographer for the Folsom and El Dorado Hills Telegraphs. In 2007 he split his time between the Auburn Journal and the Telegraphs before shooting for several of the South Placer papers in the GCM cluster. In 2011, Wood transferred to the Roseville Press Tribune as a full-time staff photographer. Wood earned a B.A. degree in anthropology in 1996 from California State University, Stanislaus, with a concentration in archeology and a minor in history. Wood later returned to college and received a B.A. degree in journalism from California State University, Sacramento in 2004.
