Roseville's Gathering Inn closes its doors
By: By Anne Stokes, special to the Press TribuneThe Gathering Inn, a haven for many of Roseville's homeless community, closed its shelter's doors Monday morning due to budget shortcomings. The nonprofit organization provides a myriad of services including health services, benefits assistance, job-placement guidance, housing and substance-abuse services. The organization needs to raise $150,000 to reopen.
Guest Jody Stetson cleared out her possessions Sunday in the wake of the shelter's closure.
"If it weren't for the Gathering Inn, I would have been out on the streets long ago," she said. "They've helped me immensely, as well as a lot of other people, and I owe them quite a bit."
