Roseville Aquatic Center kicks off summer seasonBy: Anne Stokes / Press Tribune Correspondent
The smell of sunscreen filled the air as the Roseville Aquatic Center kicked off the start of Summer this Memorial Day weekend, opening up for recreational public swimming. With three different pools and a variety of water features, there's something for swimmers of all ages and ability levels who are looking to beat the heat.
"A lot of families spend time here [at the Rec pool]. With the zero-depth entry, the little ones really like it because they can walk right in, kind of like a beach entry," said Recreations Supervisor Kate Rebello. "We also have some lanes set up in the Competition pool and we have a diving board set up. But a majority of the kids like the slide. We also have a play pool, which is good for toddlers too. It's about a foot deep, and the little ones seem to like it because it has a little slide and water features."
Roseville mom Stephanie Scott, who brought her kids for a fun day at the pool, appreciates the variety of activity levels. "We love the pool, its so much fun, and the diving board is a big hit too," she said. "It's an all-inclusive place to spend the summer."
The Roseville Aquatic Center is now open for recreational swimming on weekends, including this Memorial Day Monday, from 1:00 to 5:00 P.M. For additional dates and times, please visit: www.roseville.ca.us/parks
