Granite Bay wins second consecutive Division I section football crown

Granite Bay head coach Ernie Cooper is ceremoniously doused with water by his players as the final seconds tick off the clock Friday night. The Grizzlies successfully defended their Sac-Joaquin Section Division I championship with a 35-23 victory over Oak Ridge at Sacramento State. Granite Bay has three Division II section titles to go with its two Division I banners.

Pass interference or not? Granite Bay defensive back Jack Dockham (20), deflecting a pass intended for Byron Spain (9) of Oak Ridge, was called for interference on this play, but it didn't stop the Grizzlies from beating the Trojans 35-23 on Friday night at Sacramento State to win their second Sac-Joaquin Section Division I championship in a row.
