SureWest Communications has announced it’s going back home — back to a facility it’s owned in downtown Roseville since 1967.
The Roseville-based telecommunications company announced Friday it will relocate about 300 employees from its current Industrial Avenue campus to the location at 200 Vernon St. early next year.
That facility is currently undergoing infrastructure and design improvements in advance of the move. According to a press release, the majority of employees currently based at the Industrial campus will move to Vernon Street, including executive offices, marketing, sales, IT, finance and the call center. Industrial employees will join about 80 SureWest employees currently based in the adjacent 114 Vernon facility. All remaining employees in the field services, outside plant and warehouse groups will remain at the Industrial campus for the time being until the property is leased or sold.
“We are very excited about our move back to Vernon Street,” said Vice President of Operations Scott Barber, in a release. “Our employees will benefit from the ongoing redevelopment of downtown Roseville and its growing list of restaurants, attractions and community events. In addition to the annual expense savings, this move allows us to leverage the under-utilized Industrial facility and maximize cash flow for future investment in our business, not to mention the synergies we expect to realize by having the majority of our California employees in one location. We remain committed to keeping a local presence and this move will have no impact on jobs.”
Earlier this year, SureWest was acquired by Illinois-based Consolidated Communications.
Colliers International has been chosen as the exclusive representative for the sale or lease of SureWest’s Industrial Avenue property.
