Junior Tigers to host Granite Bay next

The offense, defense and special teams scored as the undefeated Roseville Junior Tigers rolled to a 40-6 victory over Placer on Saturday in a Sierra Valley USA Youth Football & Cheer Pee Wee game.

Parker Henry rushed for 113 yards in 15 carries and scored the first of his two touchdowns on a 25-yard punt return, as Roseville (4-0) led 14-0 at halftime and blew open the game with an 18-point fourth quarter against the Junior Hillmen (1-3).

Colten Lieburn had 11 tackles, and his blocked punt set up a touchdown run by Jordan Susbilla. Joshua Noa carried seven times for 92 yards and a score, and David Chambers scored the Junior Tigers’ final touchdown on a 50-yard interception return.

Nick Gori had seven tackles, including two sacks, Alex Rodriguez had six tackles and a fumble recovery, and John Toth and Henry had four tackles each.
Roseville will be host to rival Granite Bay (3-1) on Saturday.

Junior Midgets

Granite Bay 22, Woodland 6 — Josh Farr ran for two touchdowns to help the Junior Grizzlies (3-1) beat the Wolves (2-2) in a rematch between division co-champs in 2011.

Farr turned a quarterback sneak on fourth and inches into a 31-yard touchdown ramble with 2:47 left in the first quarter. He scored on a sweep with six minutes remaining in the game, and Blake Peterson had a clinching eight-yard scoring run with 2:47 left.

The Grizzlies came up with three turnovers late, including fumble recoveries by Grant Yocom and Jade Foddrill and an interception by Zachary Grable.
Illness and injuries left Granite Bay with 20 players.

“Our guys fought hard and found a way,” Junior Grizzlies head coach Jeff Powers said.

Mighty Mites

Granite Bay 24, Woodland 13 — Quarterback James Stabbert threw a 25-yard touchdown pass to tight end Cole Brommeland in the first quarter, and Stabbert had the big play of the game with a 60-yard touchdown run.

Woodcreek is swept by Folsom
— Woodcreek lost to Folsom in the Midget game 28-24. The Timberwolves lost at Junior Midget 30-6, Pee Wee 37-0, Junior Pee Wee 40-7 and Mighty Mite 38-0.
