Roseville company offers safe transportation options

-A +A

With area law enforcement stepping up patrols during Fourth of July, one local company is offering rides to impaired drivers.

Driver Please, based in Roseville, provides certified, insured drivers that drive people in their car. Having been in business for one year and given thousands of rides to area residents, Driver Please sees a noticeable spike in demand for their service during the holiday period.

“The increase in preventable, needless fatalities and injuries due to impaired driving during the holiday period is alarming. No one is saying you can’t have fun but planning ahead if you are going to be celebrating with alcohol is critical,” said Randy Hendershot, Driver Please president.

Driver Please is a sponsoring partner of the Walk Like MADD fundraiser and has contributed money and time to help spread the word about the dangers of impaired driving. During the Walk Like MADD kickoff event on June 13, the Sacramento Police DUI Task Force said the increase in saturation patrols and
sobriety checkpoints have been effective at increasing the awareness that if you drive drunk you will go to jail.

Key features include:

• Thoroughly screened, insured, professional drivers chauffeur customers in the customers’ own vehicles making as many stops as desired and to any location.

• Drivers, who are reserved online or by phone, meet customers at a designated pick-up location (such as their home) and drive them wherever they wish, and wait as long as is needed – all for an hourly rate.
