School bulletin: Eureka Schools Foundation raises nearly $300,000
Schools foundation raises nearly $300,000
The Eureka Schools Foundation received $293,000 in committed funds during this year's Annual Giving Campaign, which ended April 6. They expect an additional $10,000 by August. This is a record year of donations for the nonprofit organization that helps fund enrichment programs for schools in the Eureka Union School District.
The campaign typically accounts for at least half of the foundation's annual total contribution to the district. This year, 46 percent of district families participated. The organization offers a directed-giving option, meaning donors can designate specific programs to fund. Libraries and computer technology were the most selected programs, followed by music, junior high athletics, teacher development and an after-school foreign language program.
