Roseville police arrest three suspected of meth trafficking

Roseville Police Department’s Vice and Narcotics Enforcement Team arrested three people suspected of trafficking in methamphetamine, Tuesday at about 1:07 p.m. The three were arrested after one of them, Derek Alexander Hooks, 37, of Sacramento agreed to sell an ounce of methamphetamine to an undercover officer. The other two, Sonja Lynn Bailey, 43, and Giovani Perez, 23, also of Sacramento, were arrested nearby. Officers recovered 41 grams – about 1.4 ounces – of methamphetamine, more than $1,000 in cash and drug paraphernalia from the suspects. Hooks was arrested on suspicion of possession and transportation of methamphetamine for sale and conspiracy. He is being held in the Placer County Jail in lieu of $250,000 bail. Perez was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine for sale and conspiracy. He is also being held in the Placer County Jail in lieu of $250,000 bail. Bailey was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine for sale, conspiracy and unlawful possession of prescription medication. She was released from the Placer County Jail yesterday after posting a $15,000 bail bond.
