Youth soccer report for Sept. 12

In Saturday’s youth soccer action from around the area, the under-12 girls Starfire beat the Dynamos 3-0 behind the strong play of Alexandra Evans, Caitlin Conklin and Lauren Bailey. Evans was outstanding on the defensive end and also scored a goal, and Bailey set the table for a number of teammates with some great passing. The Roseville Youth Soccer Club Condors tied the Sharks 2-2 in under-12 boys play. Ryan Poindexter, Allan Dodge and Robert Oliver led the way for the Condors. The under-12 Roseville Thrashers took a 3-0 win over the Rocklin Twisters. George Hughes, Matthew Gorden and Luke Askew each scored for the Thrashers. In an RYSC under-eight boys division contest, the Sonics knocked off the Yellow Jackets 4-2. Cole Maldonado, Samuel Ordorica and Scott Baer were the top players for the Yellow Jackets, whose goal scorers were Maldonado and Ceasar Lewis. The Roseville U14 girls’ Soccer Blockers defeated the Roseville Goal Diggers 5-2 in an opening day game. Madeline Drake, Hannah Vicente, Cristina Berglund, Megan Pieczynski and Kennedy Newton all scored for the Blockers. The Keiki Kickers lost a heartbreaker to the Shakers 3-2. Emily Martin and Gracie Harada scored the Kickers’ goals, and Madison Pearson, Kylie Nguyen and Makenzie Towle had an outstanding game. The Roseville Running Cheetahs fell behind the Rocklin Kickers 6-0 Saturday, but came back, but hung in to cut the margin in half, as they dropped a 6-3 game. Rachel Ivey scored two goals and Samantha Merritt added the third score for the Cheetahs. Addy Miranda delivered an assist and Kaylee Barton had a strong game.
