Youth soccer report for Saturday Nov. 8

The Eureka Youth Soccer Club Strike Force beat the Soccer Kings 1-0 in a hard-fought battle on Saturday. The game’s lone goal was scored by Matt Sickman, while JR Caprile, Michael Colosimo and Sam Northam delivered strong performances. In a thrilling end-to-end contest in Roseville Youth Soccer Club under-eight girls play, the Shooters topped the Moonbeams 4-0. Ashley Altmann and Molly Branigan each ripped the net twice while Emily Dezzani was solid up top. Hanna Thornrose, Lauren Scacco and Samantha Anderson played a superb back line, helping a solid effort in goal by Elizabeth Fantham in delivering the shutout. In boys under-eight division play, the Eureka Mighty Grizzlies took care of the Loomis Rockets 2-0. Matt Solone broke open an even match when he came alive in the second quarter to score two goals. Noah Lutz, Trevor DuBose and Anderson Marks kept the Rockets off the board with outstanding defensive play. In another boys under-eight contest, the RYSC Yellow Jackets beat the Chargers 2-1 because of the strong play of Connor Jamison, Trayton Heinzen and Cole Maldonado. Also in under-eight boys play, the RYSC Sonics and the Mohawks tied 3-3. Josh Heeren was outstanding on the offensive end with 2 goals and Ryan Sancedo added a goal off of a Caleb Velebit assist. JT Fantham, Adam Marfull and Mason Lester worked the defensive end in a combined strong effort with goalkeeper Shaan Randhawa. In under-10 girls play, the Starfire knocked off the Ringers 4-1 behind goals from four different players. Kayla Kwong, Kourtney Milani, Kayla Beaman and Alexandra Evans all scored for the Starfire, and for Beaman it was her first goal of the season. In girl’s under-12 play, the Roseville Star Flowers defeated the Roseville Ice 4-1. Goals were scored by Maggie Brennan and Abby Downs while Alejandra Hernandez, Georgia Sherman and Megan Bill were big contributors to the cause.
