Youth baseball players report to camp

Looking for a five-tool player? Hundreds showed up for youth baseball tryouts around Roseville on Saturday. That included Roseville West Little League, which held its first of two sessions at Richards Field. Tryouts continue Saturday:

Roseville West Little League
Tryouts at Richards Field, 601 Campo St., for players with last names beginning with M through Z. Times: 9 a.m. for 11- and 12-year-olds, 10:30 for 10-year-olds, noon for 9-year-olds, 2 p.m. for 8-year-olds and 2:30 for 7-year-olds.

Maidu Little League
Tryouts for AA, AAA, Major and Junior players at 2 p.m. at Lockridge Park, 2601 Eureka Road.

Woodcreek Little League
Tryouts for the AA, AAA and Major Divisions at Mahany Field, corner of Woodcreek Oaks and Pleasant Grove boulevards, for players with last names beginning with M through Z. The last chance to register is at tryouts. Times: 10-11:30 a.m. for ages 11-12, 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. for age 10, 1:30-3 p.m. for age 9 and 3-4 p.m. for ages 7-8.

Tryouts are at the Indoor Arena Softball Complex, 8288 Industrial Ave. Times: 9-10 a.m. for Bronco Division (ages 11-12), 10:15 a.m.-noon for Mustang (9-10) and 12:15-12:45 p.m. for Pinto (7-8).
