FOLSOM — The Woodcreek Little League Padres won their 23rd game in a row by beating the Folsom National Cubs 13-0 in five innings Monday night in the District 54 Major Tournament of Champions quarterfinals at Mann Park.

Dennis Boatman hit for the cycle — in order — to propel the Padres to their third TOC win. Boatman hit a single and a double in his first two at-bats. Adding a triple and a two-run homer led to the best hitting performance in his young career.

“The first hit kind of got off the end of the bat, but the rest of the game all my hits were really solid contact and the last one went over,” Boatman said. “The closest I’ve ever gotten (to hitting for the cycle) was two of the four. It feels pretty good because last game our offense didn’t really show up.”

Boatman’s homer concluded an eight-run top of the fifth inning.

Woodcreek’s Carter Krupp pitched a three-hitter and struck out six. After Folsom National loaded the bases with one out in the third and put runners in scoring position in the fourth, Krupp struck out the side in the fifth.

The Padres were scheduled to play the Folsom National Giants in a semifinal Tuesday night. The Giants defeated the Roseville West Twins 5-2 on Monday.

Tuesday’s winner advances to the championship at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Mann Park.
