Granite Bay 6, Elk Grove 0 — Elk Grove had the ball inside the Granite Bay 15-yard line for the final 1:30, but with William Craig getting into the backfield several times, the Grizzlies (2-0) completed a shutout of the visiting Thundering Herd (0-2) in a Sierra Valley USA Youth Football & Cheer game.

Josh Farr threw a nine-yard touchdown pass to Jade Foddrill in the second quarter for the only touchdown. Farr also had a 50-yard punt return, and Nolan Stabbert blocked a punt.

“We knew this game would be a real battle because of their size and athleticism,” Grizzlies head coach Jeff Power said. “We expected more scoring, but both defenses were outstanding.”
