Woodcreek loses non-league softball game

Unable to push a single run across the plate until the top of the seventh inning, the Woodcreek High softball team dropped a non-league game Wednesday at Rio Linda. The Timberwolves managed just four hits while a pair of Woodcreek pitchers yielded 13 in a 5-2 Rio Linda victory. Rebecca Rodriguez was the bright spot for the Timberwolves in the batter’s box with a pair of hits in three trips. Woodcreek (6-3 in the SFL, 13-11 overall) was scheduled to get back to its pursuit of a Sac-Joaquin Section Division II playoff spot Friday at Nevada Union before the rains rolled in and washed out the day’s contests
