Woodcreek lacrosse is runner-up in San Diego’s Jam by the Sea tourney
Woodcreek High School’s varsity lacrosse team placed second in the annual Jam by the Sea Tournament last weekend in San Diego.
The Timberwolves went 1-1-1 on the first day to advance to the semifinals in the tournament that included teams from Arizona, Nevada and Washington.
Woodcreek jumped on Santa Clarita in the semifinals and won 5-3 before losing to Mukilteo Lacrosse Club of Washington 11-3 for the championship.
Woodcreek junior attacker Spencer Elmore totaled eight goals and three assists in the tournament. Elmore and senior midfielder Cody Morrison each had a hat trick in the Timberwolves’ 7-4 victory over 2011 tournament runner-up Bishop Gorman of Las Vegas. Junior goalie Nick Franze also played well for Woodcreek.
