Playing time was plentiful up and down the bench as the Woodcreek boys basketball team controlled its game against El Dorado from the outset Thursday in the opening round of the John Hauselt Invitational at Casa Roble High School in Orangevale. The Timberwolves took advantage of 17 points from forward Jordan Franks and 11 from reserve guard Tevin Tyus in the 76-58 win over El Dorado. “We were able to get some of our reserve players some significant minutes,” Woodcreek coach Burnel Pinkerton said, “which will only make us stronger down the road.” Tyus grabbed eight rebounds and Franks snagged seven to lead Woodcreek on the backboards as well. Nik Milani was the other Woodcreek player in double figures as the forward tallied 10 points. Nick Alongi dished out five assists and Franks four to lead the Timberwolves in that category. The win puts Woodcreek in the semifinals against Casa Roble on Friday night.
