Get geared up for Halloween with Sierra College Drama Department’s “The Mousetrap,” a murder mystery set in 1952. The play, known for its unexpected ending, keeps the audience guessing who the notorious killer is. Performances will be held again next weekend if you miss the ones this weekend, or love it so much that you have to see it again.

When: 8 p.m. Oct. 26, 27, Nov. 2 and Nov. 3, 2 p.m. Oct. 28 and Nov. 4, 7 p.m. Nov. 1

Students dance to ‘Thriller’

Students from the Creative Connections Arts Academy in North Highlands will dance to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” as part of national Thrill the World Day on Saturday. You, too, can take part by cheering the kids on as they perform at The Fountains in Roseville. But the kids aren’t just dancing to dance — they’re also getting their groove on to solicit donations of dog and cat food to benefit the Placer SPCA in Roseville.

What: Students dance to “Thriller”

When: Noon on Saturday, Oct. 27

First ever Vampire’s Ball in Roseville

Regional mistress of mystery Shannon McCabe hosts the 4th annual Vampire’s Ball, which has outgrown its club venue in Sacramento and will now be held at the Placer County Fairgrounds. The ball will feature belly dancers, courtyards, graveyards, a Plantation House, a plague house and the Theatre Des Vampires Coven. McCabe describes the scenes as interactive. In addition to three-dimensional ambiance, the ball will also feature beer gardens with Spirit Brewery, wine tasting with Vampire Vineyards, cigar smoking with Fang Banger Cigars, a 8-foot tall traveling carousel unicorn, dancing and live music.
