Songs of a forgotten tongue
During this month’s 3rd Saturday Art Walk: A Night Out at the Museum, students from the Nisenan Language Class will perform original music. Nisenan is a Maidu language that is almost extinct and was once spoken among tribes in California. Refreshments will be provided.

Race for pink
The Fountains will be splashed in pink for the Placer Breast Cancer Endowment’s fifth annual run to raise money for breast cancer research. Strollers, dogs and participants of all abilities are welcome to this family-friendly event. Walk or run in honor or memory of a loved one and stop by the “Wall of Honor” to write a message to those affected by breast cancer.
What: HOT Pink Fun Run
When: Sunday, Oct. 21. Registration at 7:30 a.m., 10K start at 8:45 a.m., 5K start at 9 a.m., 1 mile start at 9:05 a.m., awards at 10 a.m.
Where: Fountains at Roseville, Roseville Parkway and Galleria Blvd.
Cost: $30 registration, $20 youth (17 and younger), free for children under 5

Celebrate 100 years of Roseville libraries with live music, storytimes and more at the Downtown Library. Enjoy arts and crafts, games, a knitting/crochet demonstration, pie contest and photo opportunities. Staff will be dressed in 1912-style clothing and there will be special historical displays.
