Happy Columbus Day

All city of Roseville offices are closed Monday, Oct. 8, for Columbus Day, but some facilities and services remain operating. Police and fire personnel are on duty, trash pickup remains on the regular schedule and Roseville Transit services will operate normally. Roseville Sports Center, Mike Shellito Indoor Pool, Adventure Clubs and all city parks are also open.

Roseville Electric offices are closed, but emergency crews are available. Call (916) 774-5428 in the event of a power outage. Environmental Utilities offices are closed, but emergency crews will respond to water or wastewater emergencies. Call (916) 774-5780.

To make a utility bill payment, customers can put the payment in the box at Civic Center, pay over the phone at (916) 773-5300 or online at


Take the initiative

Is your head spinning from all the "Yes on This" and "No on That" political ads on TV? The League of Women Voters of Placer County and AAUW Roseville-South Placer will present a program on propositions and initiatives on the November ballot and answer attendees' questions. Being an educated voter - that's a message we can all approve of.

What:  Program on Ballots and Initiatives

When: 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9

Where: Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, 6365 Douglas Blvd. in Granite Bay.

Cost: Free, lasagna dinner $5 at the door

Branch out

Do you have a vision for the future of Roseville's urban forest? Share your thoughts at a public workshop on the city's Urban Forest Master Plan, which will serve as a road map for strategic decisions about Roseville's trees. The city is asking residents to provide their input and feel invested in the long-term care and protection of local trees.
