Cops arrest suspect same day
Roseville cops apprehended the suspect in Wednesday morning’s bank robbery nearly nine hours after the holdup. Detectives arrested Edward Sciosciole, 48, in the 200 block of Taylor Street at approximately 7 p.m. Lt. Michael Doane of the Roseville Police Department said it was an example of good police work. “After they arrived on scene, both patrol officers and detectives developed a number of leads on the suspect,” Doane said. He said a K9 unit tracked the suspect to the Heritage Inn. While officers did not find Sciosciole in the area, he said, some information was uncovered leading to the suspect’s arrest hours later. Sciosciole’s arrest stemmed from the robbery of Wells Fargo bank at 9:46 a.m. Wednesday at 110 Harding Boulevard. A police press release said the alleged suspect entered the bank and handed a note to one of the clerks, demanding money. Doane said the clerk complied and turned over an undisclosed sum of cash. The robber then fled on foot, last seen heading toward a McDonald’s parking lot north of the bank. “No weapon was seen and no one was hurt,” Doane said. Doane said Sciosciole was arrested with incident and charged with robbery and parole violation.
