Junction Elementary School needs your help. The Roseville school hopes to receive a $7,500 grant from Raley’s to help fund supplemental enrichment programs for the school’s reading program for the upcoming school year. “Raley’s Reach” will award the money to five programs that help children, community or the arts. Junction Elementary School’s grant idea has received more than 1,200 votes, but they need more before the voting period ends on Wednesday, May 12. People can vote on Raley’s, website www.raleys.com/cfapps/reach/reach.cfm. “Our students are making great strides in reading all because of the enrichment programs we offer,” according to the grant summary. “This grant will go to support training and purchase materials, to continue on the great path we have started on … Last year alone, 100 students participated in these programs before and after school.” These students saw improvements in their reading skills, according to the grant summary. The Raley’s supermarket chain is hosting the grant program in celebration of its 75 anniversary. ~ Sena Christian
