Visit more than 500 museums for free with new program
The Maidu Museum and Historic Site in Roseville is offering a new membership program that allows top-level members to visit more than 500 museums for free.
Membership costs range from $20 for students to $500 for corporate sponsors. At the $150 executive level, members earn free entrance to 534 member institutions through the North American Reciprocal Museum program, an association of arts and cultural institutions in Bermuda, Canada, El Salvador, Mexico and the United States.
Participating museums include the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco, Crocker Art Museum and California State Railroad Museum in Sacramento, San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art, and institutions in Los Angeles, Washington D.C., New York and several other states.
“Roseville has a world class museum,” said Maidu Museum Supervisor Mark Murphy. “The partnership with the other North American Reciprocal Museums will help us with that image.”
Maidu Museum membership benefits also include unlimited free admission for one year, invitations to special events, 10 percent discount at museum gift shop, four free guest passes and more.
“We are investing the money we receive from memberships into our traveling exhibits, third Saturday receptions, school programs and tours, plus enhancing our trail signage and more,” Murphy said.
