After struggling for the first 25 minutes of the match, the Oakmont High girls soccer team found its legs the rest of the way, but dropped a hard-fought 1-0 battle to Bella Vista Tuesday. The Vikings brought it with intensity after yielding the game's only goal, and dominated the second half. While they created scoring opportunities, they did not pull the trigger on available shots. Junior Ashley Record and sophomore Kendall Boshart led the improved Oakmont defensive effort, while sophomore Tiffani Rice was a catalyst at the offensive for the Vikings. Oakmont opens Sierra Foothill League play at 3:30 p.m. Thursday when it hosts Nevada Union.
