Valley Christian's Shaw rips three hits, allows none, strikes out 13
Jimmy Shaw was perfect at the plate and nearly perfect on the mound for Valley Christian Academy on Tuesday.
Shaw went 3 for 3 with a double and two RBI and faced one batter over the minimum in pitching a no-hitter for Valley Christian Academy in a 10-0 victory over against Trinity Prep (5-2).
Shaw walked one and struck out 13. Trinity Prep put two balls in play, a comebacker to the mound and a weak grounder to second.
Wright Hagerty and Quentin Moore each tripled for the Lions, who drew four walks and were hit by five pitches.
Oakmont splits two in CVC — Tiara Turner pitched a four-hitter and struck out five to lift the Vikings over Bella Vista 7-1 on Tuesday, one day after Oakmont dropped a 5-4 contest to Del Campo.
Kristen McCue paced a 12-hit attack by going 3 for 4 with a home run. Turner, Savannah Loomis and Marissa Andrade had two hits each.
Against Del Campo, Loomis, Turner and Andrade each had two hits. Andrade drove in two runs, and McCue tripled.
Granite Bay 3, Roseville 0 — Matt Austin had seven kills and two blocks for the Grizzlies (20-4, 6-0 SFL) in their 25-14, 25-19, 25-20 victory over the host Tigers (15-7, 1-4).
Greg Smith had six kills and four digs for Granite Bay, and Alec Naki had six kills and three digs. Austin Downs, Brian Berry and Zach Wilson had five kills apiece. Downs had five blocks and Berry three. Vaughn Petersen had six digs.
Josh Frost led Roseville with seven kills. Josh Lewis had six kills and two aces, and Stephen Morin had 14 assists.
Granite Bay swept Nevada Union 25-23, 25-20, 25-18 on Thursday night in Grass Valley.
Roseville 3, Woodcreek 0 — Josh Lewis had two aces during a six-point service run in the first set and Connor Miller served for seven points in a row in the second set of the Tigers’ 25-16, 25-8, 25-13 sweep.
Josh Frost totaled 12 kills and served two aces in the final set for Roseville (16-7, 2-4). Connor Miller had eight kills and Christian Habeil 26 assists.

Granite Bay sweeps two — The Grizzlies swept Roseville (4-7, 0-5) 25-14, 25-22 and came back to beat Nevada Union 13-25, 25-17, 15-7 on Thursday.
John Hayes had two big matches with four kills in the first set against Roseville and five in the second set against Nevada Union. Garrison Schlauch led Granite Bay with his setting, serving and saves.
Roseville 2, Woodcreek 0 — The Tigers (5-7, 1-5) swept the Timberwolves 25-19, 25-19.
