If Roseville West Little League’s 9/10 all-star team hadn’t already emerged as the heavy favorite in its pool, it certainly is now.

Familiar foe Maidu was Roseville West’s latest victim, falling 27-2 in four innings Tuesday evening at Richards Field. Roseville West is now 3-0, the only unbeaten team in its District 54 pool, and has scored at least 11 runs in each game.

After edging Lakeside (1-1) 16-15, Roseville West beat Snowline 11-0.

Only one Roseville West starter finished the Maidu game without a hit but still reached base on a walk.

Richy Fobbs and Jack Bautista each went 5 for 5 with a double, and Jordan Susbilla went 4 for 4 with three doubles and a triple. He also was hit by a pitch.

“We’ve been hustling and getting our outs without making mistakes,” Susbilla said. “In our first game, we struggled a little bit hitting, but now we’re progressing and getting a lot of hits.”

A lot is an understatement. Roseville West had 23 hits against Maidu, 11 for extra bases.

Colin Goodell and Jordan Berry each hit 4 for 5, but it wasn’t all just about hitting.

Pitching also was stellar. Justin Kim had his second quality start, according to manager Rich Fobbs.

Bryson Eslinger pitched in relief. Berry, who had a bounce-back performance following a tough start against Lakeside, and Bautista pitched one inning each.

“We wanted to keep as many guys under the pitch count as we could so we could use them next week,” Fobbs said. “We’ve got guys right now who are dialed in. Our job is to keep them dialed in, keep them motivated and keep them excited about playing.”

Roseville West has plenty to be excited about as it heads into its final pool-play game against Folsom American (1-1) at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Roseville West is 3-0 and all but guaranteed of advancing to double elimination next week.

Lakeside is 1-1 after defeating Snowline (1-1) 14-1 on Tuesday night. Bobby Gillespy got the start and the win. Maidu is 0-2.
