The Valley Christian Academy football team lost 33-0 to California School for the Deaf in Fremont Friday night. CSD scored 26 points in the first half before cruising to victory in the second half. The Lions gave CSD way too many chances in the contest, and that proved their undoing. Quarterback Kenneth Whitehurst was responsible for four turnovers, three interceptions and one fumble lost. Jason Gish also fumbled, giving Valley Christian five total turnovers for the game. VCA totaled 295 total yards of offense as Whitehurst threw for 79 yards and Paul Finnel rushed for another 100. Jason Gish caught two passes for 31 yards. Serge Lazarseku was the big playmaker for VCA. Lazarseku had ten total tackles on defense, caught four passes for 48 yards on offense, and still found time to block a field goal. The Lions are at Woodland Christian at 1 p.m. Saturday.
