The athletic ability and high-pressure defense of Grant was too much for the Roseville High boys basketball team Saturday. The Tigers tried to run with the Pacers, but could not as they fell 74-43 in their season opener. “Our energy was good and we played hard,” said Roseville coach Greg Granucci. “We need to buy into the style that we need to be playing to win games. We’ve got to slow it down and grind games out.” Nick Blaser scored 11 points to lead the Tigers in scoring and Matt Hack dropped in nine points, while Nick Schwyzer added six. “Grant did a nice job of picking us up and pressing us full court,” Granucci said. “They got us going up and down with them and we can’t play that way.” The Tigers were back in action Monday for a Foundation Game at home against Placer.
