A one-over par 37 by Kevin Ponath was good enough to share individual medalist honors, but the Roseville High golf team came up short in the team comparison, losing a tight 202-205 dual match to Nevada Union Wednesday at Sierra View Country Club. Ponath’s score equaled that posted by the Miners’ Spencer Biersdorff, as the two shared the top spot on the leaderboard. Roseville’s other low rounds were turned in by Wally Hix (40), Nick Anderson (41), Sam Vergara (43) and Zac Biedron (44). On Tuesday, the Tigers came up 17 strokes shy in a duel with Del Oro. Ponath’s 40 was the low round for Roseville, but it was four shots off the pace. Hix carded a 42, while Anderson shot a 43 and Vergara a 45 for the Tigers. Next up for Roseville is March 31 date with Oakmont at Woodcreek Golf Course.
