A collision involving three cars occurred late Wednesday afternoon on the intersection at Cirby Way and Vernon Street. At around 5:15 p.m., a 1992 Honda Civic and 2003 Dodge Durango were stopped at a red light on Vernon Street when a navy blue Chevy Silverado pickup truck rear-ended the Honda Civic, pushing the Dodge Durango several feet into the intersection. According to Community Services Officer Kelly Barcus, there were no signs of pre-impact skid marks. “It was like he didn’t see the red light or that they had stopped,” said eyewitness Charlene Oliver. “His truck went up and over (the Honda). It was like a demolition derby.” Officers were observed administering sobriety tests to the driver of the Silverado before taking him into custody. The driver of the 1992 Honda civic, 18-year-old Adrianna Yugovich, who is currently four months pregnant, was taken to Sutter Medical Center for precautionary reasons, Barcus said.
