Third Saturday highlights music, art

Explore your creative side with a trip to Dowtown Roseville for the Third Saturday Art Walk happening today. Several open galleries will host free events with original local art, live music and light appetizers 6-9 p.m. Open galleries include The Blue Line Gallery, located at 405 Vernon St.; 404 Gallery, at 404 Vernon St; the Downtown Library, at 225 Taylor St; Mike Martin Photography at 518 Vernon St. and Noel Flynn Gallery and Frame Factory at 225 Vernon St. The Downtown Library is exhibiting works by photographers Cole Allen, James Brunk, Chuck Edwards and St. Claire Photography. The Blue Line Gallery opens its members exhibit, The Landscape, and artists will be on hand to talk about their work. Additional Blue Line exhibits include “Celebrating Roseville: A Centennial Exhibit” of interactive centennial murals. Hands on children’s activities will be available from 1-4 p.m. at the gallery. Mike Martin Photography is featuring the art of Randy Miramontez, Michelle McKnight and Mike Martin. Waves, a series of six large white sculptures by local artist Vernon Peasenell will be on exhibit in the storefront window at 400 Vernon St. through July. Sandra Dolores, a local singer/songwriter who plays acoustic guitar, will be performing on the corner of Vernon and Grant streets 6:30-8:30 p.m. Third Saturday Art Walk maps will be available at each venue.
