Our third-annual Listening to Business event held Wednesday, Oct. 12 was a huge success! Thank you to the 80 volunteers who spent the morning walking and listening to businesses in the 38 shopping centers visited in both Roseville and Granite Bay. While we are still tabulating the results, early indications are more than 300 businesses were visited ... way to go Roseville Chamber members! It also appears one of our best kept secrets is our recently relaxed sign ordinance – many businesses visited did not know that A-frame signs were now being allowed and this was news they were happy to hear. Stay tuned for the complete results which should be released before the end of the year. Congratulations to the following members who have either been elected, re-elected or appointed to serve on the Board of Directors for your Roseville Chamber of Commerce: Ed Benoit – TRI Commercial Real Estate Krista Bernasconi – SureWest Communications Pat Brady – Sutter Roseville Medical Center Gavin Farnam – Westfield Galleria at Roseville Jeremy Master – Ignite Janette Moynier – First Bank Randy Wilson – Kronick Moskovitz Tiedemann & Girard Liisa Stark – Union Pacific Railroad Kirk Taber – Taber Creative Group Jared Thomas, DC – Thomas Chiropractic Frank Trythall – GALLINA LLP The entire board is in the process of preparing for the Roseville Chamber’s annual planning conference at which time we will review our accomplishment for the 2011 year and establish goals for the coming year. Data from our most recent membership survey will be shared with the board as a tool to develop our direction for 2012, keeping in mind the mission of the Roseville Chamber of Commerce: to provide value to our members; to promote and meet the needs and business and industry; to create the best community in which to live, work and do business. Our Fourth Quarter Business Showcase and Mixer is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 9 at the Granite Bay Golf Club. These quarterly events are an excellent way for you to showcase your business’ products and services to more than 200 attendees. For $200, Roseville Chamber members receive a table-top display for your products and business collateral and you will personally meet the attendees. As with all of the other showcase events in 2011, this is slated to be another sell out – don’t miss it! Time is from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and you can reserve your space by visiting our website at We hope to see you and your business showcased there! Wendy Gerig is the CEO of the Roseville Chamber of Commerce.
