An allegedly drunk defendant and a temper-tantrum throwing Reno woman kept the Roseville courthouse busy last week. On Friday, Thomas Robert Davis, 56, of Roseville reportedly had a blood alcohol level more than twice the legal limit as he was remanded into custody in a courtroom at the Bill Santucci Justice Center in Roseville. Prosecutor Jim Deslaurier reportedly asked a court bailiff to measure Davis’ blood alcohol level as he was being taken to the courthouse’s holding area. It took three tries for a “light sample” to register, according to a Placer County Sheriff’s incident report. Davis reportedly told the bailiff that he had drank a fifth of alcohol the night before and estimated that his own blood alcohol content was .18. Davis’ guess was close to the .179 blood alcohol level that registered on the Breathalyzer he blew into at about 9:10 a.m. Friday. Davis was taken down to the courthouse jail and later transported to Placer County Jail where he was booked on charges of violating a court protective order and driving under the influence of alcohol. He remained in custody Wednesday on $100,000 bail. Traffic ticket temper tantrum On Dec. 15, a Reno woman, whose identity was not released, allegedly started screaming and yelling at a traffic court clerk at the Roseville courthouse. Three courthouse bailiffs responded to the clerk’s request to have the woman removed, according to a Placer County Sheriff’s Office report. The 58-year-old woman allegedly continued to scream and threw herself on the ground and started kicking as a bailiff escorted her toward the exit. The bailiffs reportedly stood nearby as the woman “had a temper tantrum on the ground,” according to the report. The Reno resident eventually stood up and was walked out of the courthouse. However, once outside, she continued to yell and scream and again threw herself on the ground, the report stated. The woman later stopped, walked to her car and drove away.
