A man walked into a Roseville bank Monday afternoon claiming he had a gun and demanding an undisclosed amount of cash. Police received the call about an armed robbery at Chase Bank on Douglas Boulevard at 1:45 p.m., according to Dee Dee Gunther of the Roseville Police Department. Police are still searching for the suspect, described as a white male in his 20s, 5 feet 6 inches tall with a skinny build and dark hair that is short in the back and long in the front covering his forehead. Police said the man spoke with a Russian or similar accent and was wearing sunglasses with a gray button-up shirt. Although the suspect mentioned having a gun, no weapon was seen by witnesses. The man left the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, Gunther said. One man was quickly detained in a nearby neighborhood after the incident, but later released as he did not match the description given by witnesses, Gunther said. Gunther said Roseville police will be reviewing surveillance video from the bank once it is available. No injuries were reported in this incident. Anyone with information about the suspect or the crime is asked to call Roseville Crime Stoppers at (916) 783-7867. ~ Toby Lewis
