Suspect sought in two Loomis area armed robberies

The Placer County Sheriff's Office is asking the public's help in identifying the man who recently robbed two Loomis area businesses at gunpoint.

According to Dena Erwin, Placer County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson, the man is described as 5 feet 6 inches tall to 5 feet 8 inches tall, and is thought to be in his mid-20s. He is possibly Hispanic and may be associated with a white compact car, similar to a Saturn coupe.

The man robbed the Star Liquor Store on Taylor Road in Loomis on Wednesday, Jan. 16, at 11:35 a.m. The clerk said he was wearing a black hoodie and a black knit cap and used a handgun in the robbery. Two days later, Friday, Jan. 18, a man matching the same description robbed the Valero gas station on Penryn Road, in Penryn, around noon. A handgun was also used in that robbery.
