Roseville-based communications holding company SureWest Communications recently announced its partnership with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation to host its 11th annual golf tournament, Tee Up To Cure Diabetes, Aug. 31 at Sierra View Country Club in Roseville. “SureWest is dedicated to the community and we are proud to be a part of such an important event,” said Kirk Doyle, SureWest chairman of the board and chairman of the golf tournament in a news release. “Nearly 24 million people in the United States are affected by diabetes. Hopefully our efforts will help find a cure for this devastating disease.” Eighty five percent of all donations to the JDRF golf tournament by SureWest and the SureWest Foundation, as well as all corporate, group and individual sponsorship dollars, directly support efforts to raise funds for research and awareness about the effects of diabetes. Registration for the golf tournament begins at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. Various events and contests will be held throughout the day with appetizers and cocktails served at 5 p.m. Auction items include a pair of round trip tickets on Jet Blue Airlines and accommodations at the Reunion resort in Orlando, Fla.
