Applications are now being accepted for the Placer Community Foundation’s third annual Nonprofit Leadership Summit.

On May 9, board members and executives from about 50 nonprofit organizations will learn strategies for greater impact on the many causes they address in our community.

PCF hired Heather McLeod Grant, a nationally-known lecturer and co-author of “Forces for Good: The Six Practices of High-Impact Nonprofits,” to be the featured speaker for the summit. Grant has served in an advisory role to Stanford Social Innovation Review and her work focuses on social innovation and entrepreneurship, nonprofit leadership and organizational development. At the summit, she will address her practices of high-impact nonprofits, including building a culture of adaptive leadership, leveraging social and organizational networks and using advocacy for social change in the region.

“Placer Community Foundation is thrilled to have Ms. Grant bring her 20 years of experience and practical advice for nonprofits to our summit,” said PCF Board Chair Jeff Birkholz.

With the feedback of past participants in mind, PCF continues to develop this event according to the needs of the growing Placer County nonprofit community.

“The summit complements the grantmaking of the Community Foundation by investing in organizations that address needs that are important to donors and the greater community,” Birkholz added. “By providing nonprofit leaders with the tools they need to maximize effectiveness, Community Foundation donors can better direct their philanthropy to ensure a vibrant future for everyone in Placer County.”

The Community Foundation is offering this all-day summit free of charge to nonprofits operating along the western slope of Placer County through gifts made to the foundation’s Community Leadership Fund and through the generosity of local sponsors.
