Summer camps in full swing in Roseville area

Details: Games, crafts and water fun are on the menu for the camp, scheduled from July 2-6 at Woodcreek High School. The camp runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily, and campers will march in Roseville’s Fourth of July parade. Cost is $100.

Details: Roseville’s annual camp, for girls entering grades 7-9, is scheduled for the week of July 9-13 at Moeller Gym on campus and will run from 9 a.m.-noon each day.

Costs: $85 by July 5 and $90 after July 5. Cost includes a camp T-shirt.

Details: Jessup will be host to a Nike Basketball Overnight Camp from July 9-12 for kids ages 8-18. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included in the $410 cost. Day campers can attend for $310. A Competition Camp for kids 10-18 is scheduled from July 16-19. Cost is $200. Those who register by June 15 will receive $20 off. A Junior Skills Development Camp for kids 5-9 also is scheduled from July 16-19. Each camper will receive a T-shirt, basketball, certificate, evaluation, notebook and workout packet. Details: The clinic is scheduled from July 23-27 at Oakmont High School. The clinic is free and limited to the first 120 kids, ages 14-18, who sign up at 5:30 p.m. Monday, July 16, on the varsity diamond at Oakmont. The camp runs from 2-4:30 p.m. each day. Coaches from Oakmont, Roseville, Woodcreek, Valley Christian Academy, more than a dozen other high schools and American River and Sierra colleges will participate. Also scheduled to appear are Jim Barr of the San Francisco Giants, Don Bridges of the Cincinnati Reds and San Francisco 49ers conditioning coach Dan Bunz.

Details: A British soccer camp, conducted by Challenger Sports, is scheduled the week of July 30-Aug. 3 at Maidu Park. Camps being offered are mini soccer for boys and girls ages 4-6 (9-10:30 a.m. each day), half day for ages 6-12 (9 a.m.-noon) and goalkeeper training for ages 8-12 (10:30 a.m.-noon). The camps will feature daily tournament play and British coaches teaching foot skills, moves, juggling, tactical practices, sportsmanship and more. Campers will receive a T-shirt, soccer ball, giant soccer poster and skills performance evaluation. Those who register online at least 45 days before camp will receive a British soccer replica jersey.

Costs: $107 for mini soccer and goalkeeper training and $137 for half day.
