Flag sale raises funds for military/law enforcement groups
-A +A

Driving down Sierra College Boulevard, one will likely notice American flags planted along the side of the road — a lot of them.

Bayside Church in Granite Bay is selling nearly 3,000 flags to honor the victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The church was about halfway to its goal as of Wednesday.

The flags cost $10 for two — one is placed along the road and the customer takes the other one home. Money raised from the sales will go to local widow and orphan funds for law enforcement and firefighters. A portion will also be donated to Blue Star Moms of Sacramento, who provide care packages for soldiers, conduct veteran outreach and offer support for wounded soldiers.

To purchase a flag, attend a service at Bayside Church this weekend or stop by the main office, located at 8211 Sierra College Blvd. Suite 440.
