Spruced up for Christmas
Tree-lighting ceremony draws a crowd in Downtown Roseville
Near-freezing temperatures didn’t keep residents from coming out in droves to welcome in the season at Roseville’s annual Christmas tree-lighting ceremony Friday.
Hundreds looked on as the city flipped the switch, lighting up the Colorado blue spruce across from City Hall on Vernon Street.
This year, festivities had a green hue as thousands of LED, or light emitting diode, bulbs brightened the tree. The lights use a fraction of the energy as traditional lights. A blue star at the tip honored men and women who serve in law enforcement, officials said.
