Special needs children excluded from yearbook

-A +A
I just stumbled across this article, “Parents cry foul over yearbook,” in The Press-Tribune, June 21, and had to speak up that this too happened to us. I am the mother of a child who has autism. My child attends one of the elementary schools in Rocklin. At the end of the recent school year, he was so excited to purchase a yearbook, only to become completely devastated to find that he was not included in the class picture. Furthermore, none of the other special needs children were included in their class pictures either. I did complain to three people on staff over it to try to find out how this oversight could have happened. One of the people I discussed this with was the special education teacher who said that she too was upset when she discovered the oversight in the yearbook of her students. Victoria Todd, Rocklin
