Some Roseville residents without water due to freezeBy: Staff report
Some Roseville residents awoke Sunday morning to find themselves without running water.
Frosty temperatures overnight caused pipes to freeze as the temperature dipped as low as 27 degrees in the Sacramento area, according to the National Weather Service.
City of Roseville spokeswoman Megan MacPherson said the city's water distribution system has no issues, however homeowners who did not have proper insulation may have experienced problems. She said the city's Environmental Utilities staff was working with customers who did not have insulated backflow devices.
The city offers tips for helping to thaw pipes, including wrapping a hot towel around the pipe, pouring hot water over it or using a hairdryer (being careful of risk of shock). For more tips, click here.
