With windy conditions sending even the lowest-scoring golfers into the mid-70s Monday at the Sac-Joaquin Masters section golf finals, the season came to an end for the Granite Bay High boys golf team, and the lone Woodcreek golfer left in the field. In a tournament that sends the top three full teams and four other individual golfers onto the Northern California tournament, the Grizzlies finished eighth, and the Woodcreek’s Chris Wilson was in the middle of the pack. While some of the area’s best high school players posted scores in the triple digits, Wilson shot a solid 85 on the day, but the score was not good enough to send him on to the next level, an honor that went to golfers who beat him by nine or 10 strokes. On the team side, Granite Bay’s golfers combined for an eighth-place finish, with Nick Adams (80) and Bryan Bertilino (84) posting the lowest scores.
