Oakmont junior selected for aviation academy

Oakmont High School junior Mikaela Davidian has been accepted into the Experimental Aircraft Association Advanced Air Academy this July in Oshkosh, Wis. The nine-day program offers young people the opportunity to work with aviation professionals, while learning the arts, sciences and lore of aviation in classroom and workshop settings. The program is for students ages 16 to 18.

Woodcreek students witness Every 15 Minutes

The harsh consequences of drunk driving became real for Woodcreek High School students in late March, when the Every 15 Minutes program visited campus. "Through a realistic car crash simulation, involving junior and senior actors, students saw firsthand the heartbreak that driving under the influence can cause," wrote Wolf Pack Press Editor Matt George. The newspaper ran a special report March 30, with photos from the event, to draw additional attention to drunk driving.
