Baseball players assist Salvation Army

Members of Granite Bay High School freshmen and junior varsity baseball teams served breakfast to about 200 people at the Salvation Army in Roseville as part of a volunteer event March 24. They also packed boxes, stocked the pantry and put together grocery bags of food items. The teams' players have participated in this volunteer effort for the last few years.

Dry Creek hosts casino night

Dry Creek Elementary School's spring gala, Viva Las Vegas Casino Night, takes place from 6:30-10:30 p.m. Thursday, April 26, at Morgan Creek Country Club, 8791 Morgan Creek Lane in Roseville. The evening includes a dinner buffet, desserts, bar, DJ, silent auction and casino games. Must be over 21 to attend. Fundraiser benefits the school. For tickets, call Tammy at (480) 241-2399.

RJUHSD budget meeting

Taxpayers can have a say on how their school tax dollars are being spent during a public forum on the Roseville Joint Union High School District's 2012-13 budget. During the meeting, district staff will present information and receive public comment on the spending plant for the upcoming school year. The board will vote on the budget during the June 12 meeting. The forum begins at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 8 at the district office, 1750 Cirby Way in Roseville.
