For the sixth consecutive year, San Juan Water District has received the highest recognition of governmental accounting and financial reporting awarded by the Government Finance Officers Association.

Granite Bay’s water provider also received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for Mary Morris, San Juan’s Finance and Administrative Services Manager.

“We are committed to transparency and full disclosure in our financial reporting and it is nice to be recognized for our commitment,” San Juan General Manager Shauna Lorance said in a press release. “Our excellent financial team, led by Mary Morris, allows us to provide our customers with accurate and comprehensive financial reports. These awards demonstrate our pledge to deliver high quality water at the lowest possible cost.”

The utility serves more than 650,000 people in parts of Placer and Sacramento counties. The district also wholesales water to Citrus Heights and Fair Oaks water districts, Orangevale Water Company and portions of the city of Folsom and periodically to Sacramento Suburban Water District.

San Juan was honored for its 2010-11 annual financial statements and 2012-13 budget, which can be viewed at
