Runaway Stage Productions in Sacramento is offering two-for-one pricing for its upcoming production of “Urinetown: The Musical” for anyone holding a ticket to any of Civic Theatre West’s 2010-11 Main Stage productions (single tickets and season tickets included).

Civic Theatre West in Roseville closed down in November, citing debt.

“Urinetown” is a hilarious tale of greed, corruption, love and revolution in a time when water is worth its weight in gold. In a Gotham-like city, a terrible water shortage caused by a 20-year drought, has led to a government-enforced ban on private toilets.

The citizens must use public amenities, regulated by a single malevolent company that profits by charging admission for toilet access. One man decides he’s had enough and plans a revolution to lead the citizens to freedom.

“Urinetown” is considered an irreverently humorous satire in which no one is safe from scrutiny. Show times are 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and 2 p.m. Sundays through March 27.

The show is performed at the 24th Street Theater at the Sierra 2 Center, 2791 24th St. in Sacramento. For more information about Runaway Stage Productions, visit
